Why Started LinguaLogic Learning
I still remember the first time four-year-old Gabrielle walked into my preschool Chinese immersion class. She stood quietly off to the side and said, “I’m just watching. This is weird… but kind of cool.”
That moment stayed with me.
Years later, Gabrielle graduated from a top university, speaks fluent Mandarin, and now works in international business. Watching her journey—from a hesitant observer to a confident global communicator—reminds me what is possible when learning is guided with purpose, structure, and care.
I genuinely love teaching, and after more than 20 years in education, I am proud of the meaningful results my students continue to achieve.
I am a U.S.-licensed principal and educator with more than 20 years of international teaching experience, working with students from early childhood through adulthood. I am a native Chinese speaker and fluent in English. Throughout my career, I have served as a public-school principal, assistant principal, teacher, and a member to the World Language Advisory Committee at the Washington State Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI). I also developed foreign language assessment methods for the Washington School for the Deaf, strengthening my approach to making learning accessible, meaningful, and measurable for every student.
I started LinguaLogic Learning because I believe every student deserves to experience learning as engaging, meaningful, and empowering. Too often, students lose confidence when learning feels overwhelming or disconnected. I wanted to create a better path—one where students not only succeed academically, but also build confidence, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning. I believe learning should be practical and meaningful, so students can immediately apply what they learn to real-life situations, communication, problem-solving, and everyday success.
Over the years, I discovered that mastery-based learning is far more effective than simply grouping students by age or grade level. Children naturally love to learn when instruction matches their readiness, interests, and abilities. When progress is visible and success is celebrated, students become more motivated, confident, and engaged. This also reduces frustration, behavior issues, and unnecessary stress for both students and families.
That philosophy became the foundation of LinguaLogic Learning.
Our programs are intentionally designed to build strong foundations through structured, personalized instruction. Every lesson, activity, and interaction serves a purpose within a larger learning plan. We are deeply intentional about curriculum design, lesson planning, language use, and individual student engagement because every detail matters in helping each student make meaningful progress.
We also believe students should learn skills that are practical, relevant, and essential for the future—skills that are often missing from traditional classrooms. We incorporate real-world learning such as financial literacy, AI awareness, real-world problem-solving, how to ask critical questions/prompt, presentation and communication skills, and global perspectives.
For example, when teaching colors to young children, we may also discuss how colors influence clothing choices, social settings, cultural expectations, design, culture, and presentation. Learning becomes connected to real life rather than isolated memorization.
When students learn math, they constantly apply those skills in real-life situations such as shopping, cooking, gardening, budgeting, and traveling. Students begin to understand that math is not just a school subject—it is part of everyday life.
Our reading lessons are often connected to writing projects, presentations, discussions, or real-life experiences. Students take pride in the work they create, and we celebrate their growth, research, and accomplishments. We want students to see themselves not only as learners, but also as thinkers, creators, and communicators.
Most importantly, we nurture perseverance, determination, focus, and strong character while fostering compassion, common sense, a deep sense of humanity, and a lasting joy in learning.
We want students to become responsible for their own learning—to set both short-term and long-term goals, uphold high, attainable standards, reflect on their progress, adjust their strategies, and keep moving forward even when learning becomes challenging. We intentionally train students to develop perseverance, resilience, patience, and self-discipline because meaningful growth does not happen instantly.
Too often, students give up when something feels difficult. At LinguaLogic Learning, we help students understand that struggle is part of the learning process, not a sign of failure. We celebrate effort, consistency, progress, and persistence. We teach students how to work through challenges with confidence and determination.
Life is not easy. Learning is about building the habits, mindset, and perseverance needed for lifelong success.
Having worked with students from diverse cultural, linguistic, and educational backgrounds, I understand that every child learns differently. I have spent more than two decades reflecting on, refining, and designing our programs to help students learn efficiently, confidently, and meaningfully.
At LinguaLogic Learning, we do not believe in wasting students’ time or increasing frustration for students and families. Every lesson is strategic, purposeful, and progress-monitored. We believe in steady growth, individualized learning plans, continuous reflection and feedback, strong partnerships with parents, and teaching students how to become capable, independent learners.
